Facilitation relation between entities
Description
- A technology facilitates a concept, if the "typical" system using the technology ends up using the concept. For instance, a web-application framework such as Technology:Rails facilites MVC because a typical system using the framework uses MVC as a pattern. (We could also say that the technology supports or enforces the concept; we use "faciliation" in an effort to use a more inclusive term.)
- A language facilitates a concept, if the "typical" system using the language may use the language for defining or implementing or supporting the concept. (Again, we use "faciliation" as a more inclusive term.) That is, the concept describes a/the purpose of the language. For instance, Language:XML facilitates data exchange because some systems may use XML indeed for data exchange. As another example, Language:Java facilitates OO programming because we end up exercising OO programming when programming in Java.
- A feature facilitates a concept, if the "typical" implementation of the feature (i.e., 'contribution') uses the concept.
